How Long Does it Take Dysport to Work?

Dysport treatment begins to take effect within 2-4 days. For complete results, you may need to wait up to 14 days. The exact time it takes for Dysport to work can vary from person to person and depends on several factors, including the severity of the wrinkles and lines, the size of the muscles treated, and the individual’s metabolism.

To see faster results, you should exercise the treated muscles frequently. Exercising the treated area helps the medication spread and settle, speeding up the process.

To exercise the treated area, simply move it. For example, if you target smile lines, grin as wide as possible, and then relax your face. As a rule of thumb, you should perform at least 200 repetitions broken up into 50 rep sets throughout the day.

What is Dysport?

Dysport is a prescription medication that is used to improve the appearance of moderate to severe wrinkles and lines on the face. It is made from a purified form of botulinum toxin type A, which works by blocking the release of a chemical called acetylcholine from nerve cells. This prevents the muscles from contracting, which can help to soften or smooth out wrinkles and lines. Dysport is typically injected into specific facial muscles, such as those in the forehead, between the eyebrows, and around the eyes.

Dysport was first approved for use in the United States in 2009 and has since become a popular treatment for facial wrinkles and lines. It is commonly used to treat the “11” lines between the eyebrows, forehead wrinkles, and crow’s feet around the eyes. Dysport is also sometimes used to treat other facial wrinkles and lines, as well as certain medical conditions, such as excessive sweating, neck spasms, and overactive bladder.

Does Dysport take longer to work than Botox?

Dysport has a faster onset time (2-5 days) than that of botox (4-7 days). This faster onset time is due to the smaller molecular size of the active ingredient ‘Clostridium botulinum type A toxin- haemagglutinin complex”. The smaller molecular size allows the drug to spread out more effectively through the treated area.

How Long Does Dysport Last?

The effects of Dysport typically last for about four months, after which time the injections will need to be repeated to maintain the desired results. The frequency of treatment will depend on the individual’s needs and the severity of their wrinkles and lines. Some people may need to receive Dysport injections every three to four months, while others may be able to go longer between treatments.

What Are The Side Effects Of Dysport?

Dysport is generally well-tolerated, and most people experience only mild side effects, if any. Common side effects may include swelling, redness, pain, or tenderness at the injection site, as well as headache, nausea, or flu-like symptoms. These side effects are usually temporary and resolve on their own within a few days.

Is Dysport Right For Me?

If you are considering Dysport injections to improve the appearance of wrinkles and lines in your face, it is important to speak with a healthcare provider to determine if it is the right treatment for you. Your healthcare provider will take into account your medical history, the severity of your wrinkles and lines, and any other factors that may affect your treatment. They will also discuss the potential risks and benefits of Dysport with you and help you to make an informed decision about your treatment options.
